Visitors will be welcomed by an installation by artist Natalie González featuring Ojos de Dios (God’s Eyes)—colorful spiritual artworks deeply rooted in the Wixárika people tradition. Cutting edge designer Jorge Sánchez will showcase part of his “Pérnula” clothing line, based on recycled materials And, finally, in collaboration with CECUT, the Limite 1:1 photo exhibition will show the powerful work of Tijuana-based photographers Guillermo Arias, Alfonso Caraveo, Alexa Macias and Mayra Huerta, reflecting on the subject of the border.
Throughout history, the visionary and vital creations of Mexican artists have been a central element of Mexican culture, as well as an instrument of diplomacy and understanding with the world. Plaza Mexico at the San Diego Art Walk seeks to serve as a meeting point and forum for dialogue through the work of contemporary Mexican artists. Everyone is welcome.
