{"id":2920,"date":"2026-04-16T13:09:43","date_gmt":"2026-04-16T20:09:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.artwalksandiego.org\/missionfed\/?page_id=2920"},"modified":"2026-04-16T13:22:46","modified_gmt":"2026-04-16T20:22:46","slug":"plaza-mexico","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.artwalksandiego.org\/missionfed\/plaza-mexico\/","title":{"rendered":"Plaza M\u00e9xico"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-center has-background\" style=\"background:linear-gradient(90deg,rgb(0,196,62) 0%,rgb(248,247,246) 48%,rgb(183,21,58) 100%)\"><strong>Plaza M\u00e9xico<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-border-color has-base-border-color\" style=\"border-width:8px\">The <a href=\"https:\/\/consulmex.sre.gob.mx\/sandiego\/index.php\/inicio\">Consulate General of Mexico<\/a> in San Diego joins the San Diego Art Walk by opening Plaza M\u00e9xico, an open space for culture and community, featuring a special exhibition of art and photography by contemporary Mexican artistic creators, with the support of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cecut.gob.mx\/\">Tijuana Cultural Center (CECUT)<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left has-border-color has-base-border-color\" style=\"border-width:7px\">Visitors will be welcomed by an installation by artist Natalie Gonz\u00e1lez featuring&nbsp;<em>Ojos de Dios<\/em>&nbsp;(God\u2019s Eyes)\u2014colorful spiritual artworks deeply rooted in the Wix\u00e1rika people tradition. Cutting edge designer Jorge S\u00e1nchez will showcase part of his \u201cP\u00e9rnula\u201d clothing line, based on recycled materials And, finally, in collaboration with CECUT, the&nbsp;<em>Limite 1:1&nbsp;<\/em>photo exhibition will show the powerful work of Tijuana-based photographers&nbsp; Guillermo Arias, Alfonso Caraveo, Alexa Macias and Mayra Huerta, reflecting on the subject of the border.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-border-color has-base-border-color\" style=\"border-width:7px\">Throughout history, the visionary and vital creations of Mexican artists have been a central element of Mexican culture, as well as an instrument of diplomacy and understanding with the world. Plaza Mexico at the San Diego Art Walk seeks to serve as a meeting point and forum for dialogue through the work of contemporary Mexican artists.
